When will iGeo be held?

The 19th iGeo will be held at Bandung, Indonesia from 8th August to 14th August 2023.

 

How much is the registration fee? What does the registration fee cover?

The registration fee to participate the iGeO Bandung 2023 is USD $425 for each student or team leader. This fee covers:

  1. Accommodation (nights from 8th August to the nights of 13th August, with 3 students/ room)

  2. Meals (first meal: lunch on 8th August, last meal: breakfast on 14th August)

  3. Transportation during the competition day

All teams are expected to arrive in Bandung on 7th August 2023. The 1st IB meeting will be held from 11:00 to 12:00 and the starting time of the opening ceremony is 15:00 on 8th Aug. Closing ceremony will be held from 19:00 to 21:00 on 13th Aug. 

(BWT, usually a TF meeting will be held before the IB meeting.)

There will be 1st TF Meeting from 10:00 – 11:00. Please check the updated schedule here

 

Accommodation 

Accommodation covered by registration fee at Savoy Homann Hotel:

  • First night - 8th Aug, check-in time: 14:00.

  • Participants can store their belongings at Hotel’s concierge. LOC is still in the process of negotiating with hotel management about early check-in. 

  • Last night - 13th Aug, check out time: Noon on 14th Aug

 

All teams are expected to arrive in Bandung on the 7th of August. The teams stay at ‘Accommodation’ in Bandung on 7 Aug 2023 (breakfast included).

If teams travel to Bandung on their own before 7th August, can they stay at this 'Venue' at the same cost?

The cost of the venue may differ from the 7th August price.

 

Will LoC help to book the extra nights at Hotel Savoy Homann if the teams would like to stay a few days more before and/or after the iGeo at their own cost?

LoC will not provide help to book extra nights if the teams wish to stay extra days.  You can booked directly through online travel agent (Agoda,Booking.com, etc)

 

Transportation

Will the transportation from Jakarta Intl Airport to Bandung be provided by LoC?

  • All delegations should arrive at the international Soekarno Hatta Airport in Jakarta. Only available for the teams arriving on 7th Aug or 8th Aug at Jakarta Intl Airport, with the last pickup at 06:00 AM on 8th Aug.

    • Reminder: In order to attend the opening ceremony in time, the team needs to leave from the Jakarta Intl Airport no later than 06:00 AM on 8 Aug.

  • Each team please submit Arrival and Departure time.

 

Will the transportation from Bandung to Jakarta Intl Airport be provided on '14 August'?

  • All delegations should depart to the international Soekarno Hatta Airport in Jakarta. Transportation from Bandung to Jakarta Intl Airport will be provided by LoC on 14 August 2023.

  • Drop-off batch to Jakarta Intl Airport will be scheduled based on departure time.

  • Each team please submit Departure time.

 

What local transportation can we use in Jakarta and/or Bandung?

  1. Local transportation available for Jakarta-Bandung transport:

    1. Inter-city Train, Shuttle bus, and Bus provided by LoC

  2. Local transportation available inside Jakarta

    1. Taxi, online taxi, Train (MRT, KRL Commuter Line), Bus (TransJakarta)

  3. Local transportation available inside Bandung:

    1. Taxi, online taxi, Bus (Trans Metro Bandung, Trans Metro Pasundan)

Suggested International airport route

  1. Without Post iGeo trip: participants can go directly to Jakarta International Airport by train, travel, bus, or rental car.

  2. Yogyakarta only Post iGeo trip: participants can go directly to Jakarta, Singapore, or Kuala Lumpur.

  3. Yogyakarta and Bali Post iGeo trip: participants can go directly to Jakarta, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Australia, Middle East.

WRT and FWE-II arrangements

  • There will be 8 rooms in use, in 1 building (Civil Engineering Building).

  • There will be 1 room nearby (Geodesy Department) for TF members to stay during the tests.

 

FWE

FWE Writers on the LOC side currently are working on the questions, to make FWE1 and FWE2 in one day. They will inform to Hana separately.

 

MMT

MMT will be held in 1 sitting in ITB Computer Lab.

There will be waiting space can be provided to make sure that students do not enter rooms before the test started.

 

Marking rooms (Aryaduta Hotel)

There will be 2 separate rooms for marking and 1 large meeting room in the hotel where TF members will stay. Snacks and coffee are provided by the hotel. 

 

Room for Task Force (Aryaduta Hotel)

There will be one large meeting room open for the Task Force during iGeo in the hotel where TF members will stay. Snacks and coffee are provided by the hotel.

 

Access to photocopy (Aryaduta Hotel)

Photocopy access will be provided for the markers and supervisors lists.

Post iGeo-trip

Accommodation availability

The Post iGeo committee will handle the accommodation based on the itinerary. 

  1. Bandung Yogyakarta package: accommodation is available for 2 nights on August 14th and 15th in Yogyakarta.

  2. Bandung Yogyakarta Bali package: accommodation is available for 3 nights on August 14th-16th in Yogyakarta and 3 nights in Bali on August 17th-19th.

  3. After the tour ends, the participants are free to choose their plan to return to their countries.

 

Bandung Yogyakarta package 

  1. The accommodation on 13th August is still covered by the registration fee.

  2. Last night accommodation is covered by the fee: August 15th

  3. For transportation, we suggest using the train from Yogyakarta Station. But if you’re in a hurry, a plane flight might do. Both won’t be covered by the Post-iGeo trip fee.

  4. LoC can provide the arrangements for transportation to the Yogyakarta Airport (or train station) on 16 and/or 17 August by request.

  5. Drop-off service to Yogyakarta train station or the airport on August 16th or August 17th will be provided by request.

  6. LoC will not help to book the hotel on August 16th. The cost of the venue may differ.

Bandung Yogyakarta Bali package. 

  1. The trip ends on the 20th of August after lunch. LoC won’t help to book the accommodation for that night.

  2. A plane flight is highly recommended as a transport option back to Jakarta from Bali but it’s not covered by the Post-iGeo trip fee

  3. LoC can provide the transport arrangement to the Bali Airport (or train station) on 20 and/or 21st of August by request.
